Pursuit, a software house delineated that the rising number of independent jewelers and a multi-shop groups are bringing gift cards and loyalty schemes in the marketplace to entice customers and increase sales. As per the Pursuit report, the total yearly expenditure of the UK consumer on the gift cards is currently calculated to surpass £5 billion.

Pursuit, a renowned Software house in a report stated the introduction of the gift cards and loyalty schemes by the rising number of independent boutiques as well as multi-shop groups to boost the sales. Pursuit too indicates that the yearly spending of UK consumer on gift cards is presently calculated to exceed £5 billion. These days, loyalty reward schemes are quickly pulling in popularity among jewelers, as they report the increase in the purchase by the existing customers. Further, in the form of vouchers these loyalty schemes present the administrative challenges when not integrated efficiently into the routine PoS procedures. Managing director of Pursuit Software, Mike Burns states that Gift cards are a logical addition of the concept, i.e., reward (card) schemes and are attractive in a high-value sector such as jewelry. Burns too added that jewelers who are using Pursuit sales or say  stock-monitoring and business reporting systems provide “prepaid gift cards” as one or other of two types of loyalty scheme that are linked to privilege or ‘club’ cards.” Further, Pursuit states that the point based cards works well for all customers but is best for the clients who prefer to buy bracelets and charms of a particular brand. At first, loyalty schemes were used by the department store and supermarket chains to retain their customers but now jewelry & watch retailers widely used to lure customers.
