The design contest organized by the Weston Beamor, a Birmingham casting house that specializes in 3D printing unveils the name of the finalists in concomitance with the school of jewelry at Birmingham City University. Stephanie Holt, Mahroz Mirzahekmati, and Katie Shirt vouchsafed year 2015 competition finalists. Altogether the three designs drawn by the reviewers contemplated as of high quality.

The students of the second year of an HND in jewelry and silversmithing were asked to design a solitaire diamond engagement ring along with the matching wedding band featuring a 1ct diamond in their designs. Designs could be crafted in either Platinum or 18ct gold and can too integrate diamonds. Each tutee was also advised to appraise target audience to lure their interest in the created design and were too asked to work out the detailed cost for the production of their designs. Stephanie Holt, Mahroz Mirzahekmati, and Katie Shirt were announced as the finalist as all the three designs being drawn by the reviewers as the highest quality and holding the most commercial touch since the rivalry started. Stephanie Holt’s design stood first for its strong, discreet and highly contemporary feel, giving a distinctive touch while allowing combined bands to be worn separately as well. The ‘Unconditional’ design crafted by the Mahroz Mirzahekmati adds more traditional touch, as the introduction of convoluted and flowing rose gold details with scholarly placed diamond enhance the beauty of the ring finger. ‘Florence’ by Katie Shirt, inspired by the most romantic city in the world is identified by the jurists as “a great design”. Inventions will be kept on the show, and the achiever will be declared on Tuesday, January 9, 2016.
